Valheim is one of the latest and most successful Early Access games , to ever hit Steam. Being that Valheim is enrolled in the Early Access program, it will receive frequent updates for the foreseeable future. These updates can apply to both server and client files as the game progresses forward. Game updates generally contain new features and functionality improvements, bug fixes, security patches, and more.
Each update requires players and servers to update their versions of the game in order to play. As a RUST server owner, you must update your server once this server update becomes available. Many server owners use the monthly update as an opportunity to wipe their servers as well. OVH Dedicated Servers are easily able to boot into a Linux operating system using an updated kernel with the netboot startup system. However, it's best practice to update the kernel on the local machine. This guide will show you how to update the kernel for distributions that use an OVH core. OVH provides self-managed machines that you are responsible for administering. We have no access to these machines and therefore cannot manage them.
